A new restaurant opened in Asheville! As an amateur foodie and your dedicated Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown Concierge, I set out to try it with the “other” Jamie. The oneFIFTYone Boutique Bar & Bistro lent me Asheville’s best waiter for the evening and we went to sample the newest restaurant in Foodtopia! 
 
 
The Creole:
Jambalaya with Andoullie Sausage. The perfect spice combination stirs memories
of New Orleans in this traditional dish. Spicy enough I had to order an extra
Highland Gaelic Ale. 😉 The presentation was more elegant than expected.
In the end, yum!
 
 
 
 
The
Soul: Buttermilk Fried Chicken with a side of collard greens and grits paired
with Asheville Brewing Company Rocket Girl Lager. As a fried chicken connoisseur
of sorts, Jamie found this dish to be delicious, just a tad saltier than

The
Dish: Very reasonably priced with a fun, funky décor. Service was as sweet as
pecan pie. They can accommodate dining restrictions such as vegetarian, vegan,
and gluten free – just ask, the cook will come out and explain what they have
available to you! Good Selection of local craft beer: Highland & Asheville
Brewing Company rule the shelves. Open Monday thru Saturday 11:30a to 3pm for
Lunch and 5p to 9p for dinner. Price Range: $7 to $14 per entrée. Owner: Holly

Grand Opening for
Mr. Frog’s Soul & Creole Kitchen is Tuesday, June 12 from 4p to 8p.
There will be a
ribbon cutting ceremony & they will be offering complimentary tasters from their
menu. Cash bar will be available. Let me know what you thought of this soulful Asheville kitchen!
