Celebrating New Years Eve in Asheville

Asheville new Years Eve

2012 is winding down and 2013 is dawning… what will you do to celebrate another trip ’round the sun?

Count down to the new year in Asheville, we have events out the wazoo!

Our favorite event, not that we are partial, but will be ringing in the New Year in pure Asheville foodie style with the Asheville Wine Experience: 10 courses, 10 wines, on the 10th floor of the beautiful Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown. This French style revelry New Years Eve in Asheville at the Asheville Wine Experience will indeed be the perfect “10.”

Celebrate New Years Eve in classic Beer City style with the Hootin’ Hollarin’ Hootenanny at Oscar Blues Brewery. With a special reunion of rock band Jupiter Coyote, Pisgah Pickers with drummer Jeff Sipe, and The Foxfire performing, the music will flow as tasty as the booze. Speaking of booze, its Oscar Blues Brewery’s grand opening New Years Eve, so just one more reason to celebrate the New Year in Asheville!

New Years Eve wouldn’t be the same in Asheville without the Masquerade Furrball at The Venue!  What better way to start out a new year by spending the night with for an amazing cause!  The benefit will start at 9am and run all through new year with DJ Sound Explosion to tickle your ears.  Get dressed up, wear mask and win some of their some of the amazing prizes in the silent auction at this semi-formal New Years Eve celebration.

Want to be daring?  How about a North Carolina Polar Plunge at Lake Lure?  Another Charity event happening not New Year’s Eve but the first.  Make your teeth chatter with excitement or the cold as you and group of closet friends delve into water!

Of course a personal favorite of Katie’s is dancing the night away at Grove House!  What is better in this life than 3 floors of DJs, Champagne Toast and a Balloon Drop!  You can play where’s Waldo for the Concierge Team if you spot us on the dance floor.

Of Course many of Great Local Bars will be offering Excitement of their Own:

Orange Peel: Emancipator, Shigeto, Marley Carroll {rock} $25 advance, $30 door
Jack of the Wood: Floating Action, Ice Cream and DJ Steel Wheels {rock} $15
Bobo Gallery: David Earl and the Plowshares $8
5 Walnut:  Shake It Like a Caveman {funk} starts at 10pm … just a note – Shake It Like a Caveman is Jamie’s favorite local band – even if he’s just one man!
The Grey Eagle: The Hackensaw Boys will start your new years eve celebrations in Asheville with the energy of a rock band and the sounds of the blue ridge mountains.
Lobster Trap:  Let the sea meet the mountains with a dinner at the Lobster Trap on New Years Eve and listen to the traditional sounds of bluegrass music!
Asheville Music Hall: The Fritz and The Broadcast {rock and soul} $10 advance, $12 door
Emerald Lounge: Gauche Vibrations and Circuitree Records NYE Party
Pack’s Tavern: Countdown to 2013, featuring two DJs $10. For a larger experience go upstairs to the Century Room that will feature a buffet dinner, music and New Years Eve champagne toast! $50
Tressa’s: Get your boogie on with a New Years Eve bash that will feature motown, blues, funk and a balloon drop!
The Market Place Restaurant: an excellent casually upscale New Years Eve celebration with live music by Molli Parti and bubbles at the count down.

Kid-Friendly New Years Eve Celebrations in Asheville:
Hands On! Hendersonville will host New Years Eve at Noon – a party for the kids. The pre-party starts at 10am. Let them dress up in stage costumes and make a racket with noisemakers. $5.

Fun Depot: enjoy 3 hour of unlimited FUN for $15 per person from 10pm to 1am to celebrate the New Year in Asheville. The Depot Diner will be open and we will even have a band and party favors!
