Introducing Eden

The Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown and the oneFIFTYone Boutique Bar & Kitchen are delighted to introduce our new Executive Chef, Eden Roorda!

A recent transplant from NYC, Executive
Chef Eden Roorda was lured into the culinary world when her passion for this
industry and for food was recognized at an early age. Eden went on to study the
culinary arts at the L’ Ecole de Cuisine; a division of York Technical
Institute,where she learned to develop her own unique style and flair. She
continued with her career at exclusive restaurants and hotels such as Aries and
T’afia in Houston, The Mount Stephens Club in Montreal and the Sheraton in

Over the years, Eden has worked under influential leaders of the culinary world
who helped shape her style and depth of knowledge. After moving to NYC, Eden was
appointed Executive Chef of The Black Swan in Brooklyn, NY and then the
Neighborhood 106 in Manhattan. Throughout her career, Eden has had the
privilege of spending summers as Executive Chef of El Capitan Lodge, A remote
fishing resort in SE Alaska. Eden
balances her culinary career with spending time with family and friends.

Eden’s culinary philosophy and
passion reflects the growing trend towards farm to table and local cuisines.
Working with neighboring farmers to seek out the finest in regional and local
produce, is the essence of her cuisine. Eden’s preference is to allow the
natural flavors of food to express themselves.
We are so proud to have Eden leading our culinary team! Together we will feature the flavors that make Asheville, North Carolina the nation’s only Foodtopian Society. Chef Roorda’s Spring menu highlights local ingredients with approachable dishes.
